Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chore Board, part of the honestlogic.app family of apps, handles information. Chore Board shares one account system and one backend with its sibling apps, so signing in to any of them signs you in to this one too.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in, we collect the email address you provide. We use passwordless “magic link” sign-in — we never see or store a password.

Content you provide.

• Kid profiles: a name for each kid you add. No account, email, or password of their own.
• Chores you create, including their titles and the minutes they're worth.
• Chore-completion photos a kid takes inside the app as proof, and your approve/reject decisions and notes on them. Photos are automatically deleted 7 days after submission regardless of whether they've been reviewed; the completion record (chore, status, timestamps) is kept.
• The minutes-earned ledger: chore credits, and any manual adjustments you make.

Automatically collected information. We use a small number of functional cookies (your session cookie, a kid device's pairing cookie, and a CSRF-protection cookie) required for the app to work. We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure page-load performance; it reports aggregate timing data only.

How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate the app: to sign you in, to show each kid their own chores and a paired device nothing else, to store and display completion photos for your review, and to track minutes earned. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Third Parties We Share Information With

• Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and authentication (magic-link email delivery). All content described above is stored here.
• Vercel — hosts the app and provides the performance-monitoring feature described above.

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell it.

Children's Privacy

Chore Board is intended to be set up and controlled by an adult account holder. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children; a kid's name is entered and managed by the account holder, and a kid accesses the app only through a device the account holder has already paired — not by creating an account or providing information to us themselves. A kid-device pairing has no access to anything outside that kid's own chores. If you are an account holder, you are responsible for determining whether this is appropriate for your household and for any consent that requires. You can remove a kid's profile, and the data tied to it, at any time.

Your Choices and Rights

You can review, edit, or delete kid profiles, chores, and completion records directly within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and the content tied to it from our database. To request a copy of your data, ask us to delete your account entirely, or ask any other question about this policy, contact us at the address below.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Completion photos are deleted automatically after 7 days regardless of review status. If you delete a kid profile, a chore, or your entire account, the associated data is removed from our active database (backups may persist for a limited period before they are cycled out).

Security

We rely on our providers' security controls (Supabase, Vercel) and standard practices — encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level database security scoping data to its owner, and CSRF protection on requests that change data. The chore-photos storage bucket is private with no direct client access; every photo is read and written server-side only. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
